My back is a thousand degrees warmer than my front. Snow reflects the yellow-orange light of a well-made fire. A glass of homemade port rests lightly in my hand. Voices, incredulous with surprise and laughter, simultaneously realizing that we all, unbeknownst to each other, have watched the same science-explainer video online about how electricity doesn't flow through wires like water through pipes, but is actually propagated via electric fields.
